GOOD MANNERS

 

Everybody likes a man with manners and hates one with bad manners. Good manners lend a great charm to man. Even an ugly person with good manners is welcome, while even a handsome person with bad manners is repulsive. Good manners are one of the most precious ornaments of man. A person with good manners is welcome to all at every place.

Good manners differ from society to society. Some manners may be considered good in one society, but may be bad in another society. We may mention some of the manners considered good in every society. Good manners speaking politely. Good manners lie in respecting seniors and loving juniors. Obedience to superiors is a sign of good manners. Good manners require us to be courteous and polite to all.

Good manners can be shown in all activities. They can be shown in sitting, speaking, walking, working, etc. we should show good manners at home, at school, on the playground and at every place. Good manners can be learnt by observation. We should observe how people with good manners behave. Good manners can be learnt at any age, but childhood is the best period of learning good manners. Children can learn good manners if their parents, teachers and friends are good manners. Companions have a great influence in shaping our manners. If we keep good company, we learn good manners; if we keep bad company, we become bad.

Good manners are a sign of civilization. Civilized people are good- mannered; uncivilized people are bad- mannered. As a rule, educated people are good- mannered, but all educated people are not good mannered. Some uneducated people are found to some good manners. Good manners can be learnt through good breeding and training. They are also learnt through association with good mannered people.

Good manners help a man to be successful in life. Even an uneducated people with good manners can be successful in life because he us liked and helped by others. Good manners are more important than education. We can say that good manners are the most valuable possession in our life. A man with good manners never suffers in life. So, first and foremost we should learn a good manners.

 Good manners should be taught at schools. It is a matter of regret that many schools in our country do not attach much importance to this matter. In many schools, the students are noisy, rowdy and undisciplined. They do not sit quite in the class. They create disturbance even when the teacher is taking class. They spoil school property and make teacher leaves the room. They go out of the class as soon as the shout and flight. They laugh at strangers who come to the school. Such bad manners must be checked. The teachers must be vigilant that the students behave properly at school.
